Sewing Fundamentals Session One

For Beginners - Learn to Use Your Sewing Machine & Hand Sewing , Ages 8 - 12 Tues, 13 - 17 Wed


Service Description

This 4-week session will cover the basic operation of a sewing machine and fundamental hand sewing skills. This session is for beginners and no previous sewing experience is expected. Students will learn how to use a home sewing machine, learn about different types of fabrics, introductory hand sewing skills, measuring, cutting, ironing and following sewing instructions. Students will work on a small pillow, standard size pillowcase and a tote bag projects. Students should bring a sewing machine, sewing supplies (thread, machine needles, hand needles, pins, seam ripper, scissors) and a water bottle. All fabric and additional supplies will be provided. Classes will be held from 9:30am - 12:00pm at 30515 Euclid Ave, Wickliffe. Students ages 8 - 12 will meet on Tuesdays, June 4, 11, 18, 25. Students ages 13 - 17 will meet on Wednesdays, June 5, 12, 19, 26. Students may rent a sewing machine if needed. Cost for all 4 classes in this session will be $140 per person. Students may be dropped off for the classes. Parents may sit on the side of the room if they choose.
