  • We accept donations of fabric, yarn, notions, supplies and sewing machines.

  • We teach classes and host community sewing events.

  • The Fabric Stash Store sells donated fabric (apparel, drapery, upholstery, quilting, costumes, trims) and sewing supplies at thrift store prices

Help Finish Quilt Tops

Join us on Wednesdays from 10am - 2pm at our Lakewood Location to help us finish quilt tops.

We have a long arm and free motion sewing machine

to use to quilt these tops and add binding.

We also need volunteers to help make charity kits and sort donations. Sign up to come for any amount of time on Mon or Wed, 10am - 2pm.

New Volunteer Orientation

Would you like to volunteer with us? Please sign up for a 30min New Volunteer Orientation. During this time you will be given a tour of the facility, supply us with emergency contact information, and learn about the many ways you can help. We will also get to know you, your experience, and your goals. Register in advance.
 

Longarm Quilting Orientation

Are you interested in learning to use one of our Longarm Quilting Machines and helping to finish quilt tops for charity? Attend one of our orientation sessions and we will show you how to use one of these machines so you feel comfortable when working with us to finish quilt tops. Register in Advance.

Who Receives our Handmade Items?

We deliver handmade items to several charities in Cuyahoga and Lorain Counties. 

Malachi Center

2nd and 4th Tuesdays of each month

Sewing and Crocheting Open Studio, 10am - 2pm

Use our space, supplies, and sewing machines to work on your personal sewing and crocheting projects. Sewing Coaches will be available to answer questions and offer guidance.

Volunteers Needed

Volunteers are invited to come to Malachi Center anytime on 2nd and 4th Tuesdays from 10am - 3pm or Fridays 4 - 6pm.

We need volunteers to:​

  • Teach Sewing and Crocheting

  • Work with adults and children

Mending Dignity Ministry

We work with the Lutheran Metropolitan Ministry to offer mending services to the homeless men in their shelter at

2100 Lakeside Ave, Cleveland.

Please allow up to 3 weeks for your machine to be returned for pick-up.
