Volunteers Needed

Volunteers are invited to come to Malachi Center anytime on

Tuesdays from 10am - 4pm or Fridays 4 - 6pm.

Sign up to Volunteer using our Creators Club App or on our Booking Page.

We need volunteers to:

  • Sort Donations

  • Teach Sewing and Crocheting

  • Help Mend Clothing

  • Work with adults and children

Help Finish Quilt Tops

Join us on Wednesdays from 10am - 2pm at

Drapery Stitch, 12890 Berea Road, Cleveland

to help us finish quilt tops.

We have a long arm and free motion sewing machine

to use to quilt these tops and add binding.

Mending Dignity Ministry

We work with the Lutheran Metropolitan Ministry to offer mending services to the homeless men in their shelter at 2100 Lakeside Ave, Cleveland.

Contact Us if you are interested in helping with this ministry.

This Chapter offers sewing, crocheting, and mending programs to local low income and unhoused community members. 

Hours:  Tuesdays

1st Tuesday of each month

Mending Dignity Program, 12pm - 4pm 

Bring your clean clothing items that are in need of repair and our volunteers will mend your clothes for you.  Simple mending examples are a small tear or rip, a missing button, a damaged zipper, a simple hem.

2nd and 4th Tuesdays of each month

Community Sewing and Crocheting Open Studio, 10am - 2pm

Use our space, supplies, and sewing machines to work on your personal sewing and crocheting projects. Sewing Coaches will be available to answer questions and offer guidance.

Donations:  4th Friday of the month, 10am - 2pm

We accept donations of sewing and crafting related items. Examples include fabric, yarn, zippers, elastic, velcro, sewing supplies, paper crafts, glue, scissors, foam, polyfil, batting, markers, crayons.
