Open Staff Member Positions

  • We are looking for Part-Time Paid Staff Members in the following locations:

  • Duties Include:

    • Assist with sorting donations​

    • Keep the Fabric Stash Store Organized

    • Help Customers

    • Use the Point of Sale System

  • A strong candidate will have experience in:

    • Retail or Sales​

    • Fabric or Fiber Arts

    • Comfortable with Computers and Phone Apps

    • Strong Organizational and Communication Skills

    • Works well on a team

    • Will need a Background Check

Open Teaching Positions

  • We are looking for Teachers, either Volunteer or Paid, to teach in our Sewing Studios, Local Libraries or Lead a Charity Sewing Day in the following locations:

    • Euclid

    • Lakewood

    • Medina

    • Alliance

  • A strong candidate will have experience in:

    • Teaching

    • Fabric or Fiber Arts

    • Comfortable with Computers and Phone Apps

Open Board Positions

DIRECTOR OF RETAIL AND IN-KIND DONATIONS

  • We are seeking a Director of Retail and In-Kind Donations. This person will work with store managers for all of our Fabric Stash Stores, and help coordinate store operations for all the locations. Currently, there are four store locations, Euclid OH, Lakewood OH, Medina, OH and Alliance OH.

  • We accept in-kind donations of fabric, yarn and sewing supplies. Some in-kind donations are sold in our retail stores to provide access to quality sewing supplies at thrift store prices. Some of these in-kind donations we use to make charity kits which volunteers use to make handmade items like quilts, placemats, pillowcases, tote bags and more. Finished Items are brought back to us and are then delivered to local agencies in need of handmade items.

  • Duties will include:

  • Coordinate policies and procedures for all Fabric Stash Store Retail Locations

  • Communicate with Store Managers

  • Supervise Pricing, Signage, Displays, Shelving

  • Refine Sorting Process for In-coming Donations of Supplies, Finished Items

  • Supervise Order Fulfillment for Online sales

  • Supervise Sales on Facebook Marketplace

  • Creation and Sale of Quilt Kits made from donated items (Pride Quilt Kits, Christmas Kits)

DIRECTOR OF HUMAN RESOURCES

We are seeking a Director of Human Resources. This person will work with chapter coordinators and the Executive Director to create and manage human resources policies. Currently, there are four store locations, Euclid OH, Lakewood OH, Medina OH and Alliance OH.

Director of Human Resources Duties:

  • Coordinate and Communicate with Chapter Leadership

  • Staff Engagement, Hiring and Review

  • Volunteer Engagement, policies and recruitment

  • Vantage Program, Internships

  • Create and Maintain Handbooks and Guidelines

  • Chair the Human Resources Committee

Board Member Details

  • The term length for a board member will be 3 years.

  • Terms may be renewed up to 2 times, for a total of 3 terms served on the board.

  • Each board member will chair at least one committee.

  • Board members are not required to contribute financially to Sew4Service, and are instead asked to contribute their time and professional expertise to supporting Sew4Service.

  • Board members are not paid for their time and service to Sew4Service.

  • Board members should attend all board meetings, held quarterly. Missing three consecutive board meetings may be grounds for removal from the board.

  • Board members should review the agenda and committee reports prior to the next board meeting so they are ready for comments and discussions.

  • Committee chairs should submit a quarterly report to the board president at least two weeks before the next board meeting.

Committees and Associate Board Members

  • Committees should contain at least three members.

  • The Finance and Governance Committee should only contain voting board members.

  • Committees are chaired by the Director of that division.

  • Committees may contain board members and associate board members.

  • Volunteers and Staff Members may be Associate Board Members.

  • Associate Board Members attend Committee meetings and may present at a board meeting, but are not voting board members.

  • Associate Board Members may serve on more than one committee.

  • In the event that a Committee Chair needs to step down from this role, the remaining committee members will act as the interim committee chair until a new committee chair and board member is established.
