Feature Article MEDINA — A Northeast Ohio nonprofit has expanded to Medina County, encouraging crafters to create items that will then go to local charities in need of donations. Sew4Service is comprised of people who sew, quilt, crochet and knit. When we teach a Learn to Use Your Sewing Machine Class, we begin by briefly explaining how a sewing machine makes a stitch. But using a sewing machine wasn't always so easy. We found this video which explains the history of the invention of the sewing machine and how they actually work.

Students at Denison University in Granville, Ohio begin their second year as a Sew4Service Student Chapter. Denison was the first University to have students start a chapter, driven by a desire to learn to sew while helping their communities. These students have set the example for other college students, with new student chapters starting this year at John Carroll University and Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio.
