What is Fiber Fest?

Fiber Fest is a day-long celebration of fiber arts, creativity, learning, and community. Whether you're a beginner looking to try something new or an experienced maker wanting to expand your skills, Fiber Fest offers opportunities to explore a wide variety of fiber arts traditions and techniques through hands-on workshops, live demonstrations, exhibits, and community connections.

 

At Fiber Fest, you can:

  • Participate in hands-on workshops and demonstrations throughout the day

  • Choose your own experience by attending a single session or spending the entire day exploring multiple classes and activities

  • Learn from skilled fiber artists and instructors from across Northeast Ohio

  • Discover traditional and contemporary fiber arts techniques, including:

    • Weaving

    • Needle felting

    • Wool art

    • Quilting

    • Sewing basics

    • Patchwork and appliqué

    • Crochet and knitting

    • Lace making

    • Hemming and alterations

    • Upcycling and creative reuse of fibers and textiles

    • Culturally inspired fiber arts traditions

    • Embroidery enhanced with technology and maker-space tools

  • Experience live demonstrations, including sheep shearing and other fiber production processes

  • Explore the intersection of art, craft, sustainability, and technology

It is a place to learn, create, share, and connect—whether you're picking up a needle for the first time or continuing a lifelong creative journey.
