Fiberology

The sewing class you need, when you need it.
Fiberology™ is Sew4Service's signature sewing experience, combining the flexibility of open studio learning with the guidance of structured instruction so every student can learn exactly what they need, when they need it.
BEGINS AUGUST 1, 2026
The Fiberology Experience
Fiberology is more than a sewing class—it's Sew4Service's signature way of learning.
Every Fiberology experience is personalized to your goals, your interests, and your pace.
Whether you're learning to use your sewing machine for the first time, mastering a serger, reading patterns, mending clothing, upcycling thrift store finds, crocheting, knitting, quilting, hand stitching or finishing a project you've already started, Fiberology meets you where you are.
Come with a specific question, a project, or simply a desire to learn.
We'll help you build practical skills, creative confidence, and the independence to continue creating long after you leave.

How Fiberology Works
Fiberology is designed to fit your schedule, your interests, and your learning style.
Fiberology is two hours long and costs $30, with most supplies included. Our Sewing Studios have sewing machines, cutting stations, ironing stations and basic sewing supplies.
To ensure plenty of individual attention, Fiberology is limited to 10 participants and is led by two experienced Fiberologists (instructors).
Our Fiberologists bring a wide range of knowledge in sewing, quilting, sewing machines, sergers, crocheting, knitting, embroidery, mending, alterations, pattern reading, and upcycling, and they'll do their best to answer your questions and help you achieve your goals.
There is no required starting point or ending point. Come as often as you'd like, and each time you return, we'll pick up right where you left off. You can focus on a single project, learn a specific skill, or follow a more structured learning pathway that builds your knowledge and confidence step by step.
Fiberology is offered throughout the year at Sew4Service chapters in Alliance, Euclid, Lakewood, and Medina, with a variety of days and times to fit your schedule.

Accessibility & Financial Assistance

At Sew4Service, we believe everyone should have the opportunity to learn, create, and build confidence through Fiberology, regardless of financial circumstances.
Thanks to the generosity of our donors and grant partners, we are able to offer reduced-cost Fiberology sessions for all participants. Everyone receives a $20 discount which is covered through grant funding.
If the remaining cost of attending Fiberology would still be a barrier, simply select the discounted option that best reflects your situation during registration.
No additional application is required.
You can also earn credit toward the cost of a class by volunteering (in-person, at home, at an event). For every 25 volunteer hours, you earn a $5 credit.
Our goal is simple: if you're ready to learn, we want to help you get started.
